spring showdown 3
And ditto on the second part
I went late afternoon and it seemed to be a decent turn out for being in Roanoke. Would like to see more shows like this in the area, but like Adam said, any excuse to get the hell out of Roanoke to go to a car show and I'm game (if I'm not stuck at work or the car isn't broke). There were a few cars that caught my attention in a good way and a lot that caught it in a bad way, but hey if you think your hard work deserves to be seen, why not show. Heard a guy call the corvette a "lingen-feather", and couldn't help but laugh. All in all a decent show.

I heard people talking about how the Eclipse convertible with the airbrush in and out had over $150,000 invested in it, how the big black F250 had over $200,000 invested in it, etc... heard people talking about how the JL W7 can take over 10,000 watts of abuse, how certain vehicles made over 190dB in bass offs, and all sorts of other random made up bullshit.
I'm sure the paintjob on the convertible Eclipse was expensive. It was sort of a 90's style lowrider type airbrish paintjob. I liked the paint, just not on that car... Here's the kicker though: IT HAD A JENSEN DVD HEADUNIT FROM WALMART IN IT, and I didn't recognize the brand of the racing seats, so either they were ultra high end, or they are some no name knock off brand. Regardless, a lot of time and money went into that car, but I can't help but to wonder where those rumors got started. I also can't help but to wonder why someone would probably spend thousands of money on a paintjob, and then go get the cheapest POS dvd headunit they could find. Think maybe the owners of these vehicles lie out of their ass when people ask about their pride and joy? For instance, "Yeah, my system makes 490dB and I win every bass off" or "It makes 750hp" or "I have $150,000" invested into it not including the cost of my ride itself... Or is it sort of like that old game we played in elementary school called "telephone" where you relay a message and it gets distorted after it's been passed along several people.
It's funny how many dumb comments you can hear at a car show. I really have trouble biting my tongue when I hear some of the idiotic things. I don't know if I could have resisted correcting that guy if I were in your shoes.

Here are a couple pics I took of my friends cars. None of us actually entered to show them. We just payed 5 bucks to park in the show. I also took a pic of a civic hatch, and I'm pretty sure it has a plastic turbo!!!

I love his mini.
