the fundamental problem with this game (at least for me) is that when I'm out riding, i'm not thinking about the game.
no clue how many "a" streets I passed today.

Same here. I left my house today and rode for about 3 hours. Got home and thought "Shit.. i forgot to look at street names."

Edit: Never mind. Thought that road down the road from me was something else, well google maps lied to me at least. So I'm out since I don't have tags on my bike right now.

New idea. Since we're not keeping score anymore, my new goal is to get as many grabs in a row as I can. So far I've only been able to get two.
