Actually the newer KB's are a twin screw design which is different than a roots.
They both are positive displacement blowers but the twin screw is far more efficient than a roots style.
As for which is better - centrifugal vs. roots vs. twin screw thats another looooooong post.

which is precisely why the Pro 5.0 guys all run positive displacement blowers instead of say, a procharger?

i got a four banger mustang too......nice little automatic car i got for about a grand.....and a turbo manifold that a buddy gave me...so i may be getting bored sometime soon
I do agree, instant power is fun with a twin screw or roots, but the centrifigals produce more top end hp. I wouldnt buy a KB for any car other than an 03, the dyno #'s are horrible on most cars. And I still prob wouldnt get a kb, procharger's new kit is sick.

do they? i have a little experience with both kinds of superchargers.....but i personally like a roots style better then a centrifugal mainly due to lifespan....

but i do believe you know more on that subject then i do...i am a "second hand" mustang man.....the woman prolly knows a little more on this then i do!

i have seen a shitload of centrifugal S/C's that have had a bearing go out in them not long after install...but that may be due to installation.

hell...just slap a T78 turbo on it and be done!

lol i would think the bearing on a turbo spinning 100,000+rpms would go out along time before a centrifigul supercharger would

that is why they make turbo timers!

most turbo's i have dealt with have a lifespan of about 50-100k miles.

if treated right...same thing goes for S/c's. abuse is not tolerated by engine parts (or trannies for that matter ) at all!

if you look at any of the ford racing organizaitions (FFW, NMRA) the only people that run postive displacement blower are in open comp (bracket racing where speed doesnt necessarily win) or a true street class. all the fast guys run centrifugal blowers because they will ultimately make more power.

and then theres the turbo guys....

turbos are the fucking shit
