Just be careful with the bells and whistles. The basic stuff can usually stand the test of time, but the fancy stuff can get dated pretty quickly.

i hate civics.. it's rare finding an unmodified civic nowadays.. my dad and i were looking at 2001+ civics for my sister.. out of the 5 we looked at.. 3 of them had modifications.. and i know some of you hate VWs and stuff.. but when I wrecked my DSM i decided to sacrifice speed for more comfort. There's no point for me to get a fast car.. I'm not going to race it anymore on the street.. I'm not going to take it to the track.. one of my co-workers has a civic with motorswap and gutted carpet.. no one likes his car.. yes it's fast.. but would you want to ride in a daily driver that was like that? speed isn't always the best thing.. and of course looks isn't always either.. i dont like most body kits.. i like subtle things.. for some reason i respect every car on the road.. even civics if done correctly.. but most civics are pieces of crap. i use my car to get from point A to point B comfortably.. people enjoy my auto 15mph locks, side view mirror defrosters, heated seats, nice dash (not plastic).. if i had the money yeah i'd get something fast.. but it wouldn't be my daily driver. i'd use my VW or something to commute.. then use the V8 or whatever on the weekends to cruise around in with the top down or whatever.
