Leaving work was...interesting. Overall didnt get too wet, and it was nice once the clouds rolled in, wasnt stupid hot. Came home however and found out nobody makes the igniter I need anymore. Fuck.

ignititor for what? I've fixed a few of them with radio shack parts. I used to do alot of that stuff (it's good money). Hell, I'm sitting here staring at a 22" flatscreen monitor that someone was junking... and I fixed....for 8 bucks...lol.

for the rf, I tried to pop it open and check it out last night but I wasn't sure how it was snapped in so I didnt want to bust it up trying to pry it open. If you can help me out that would be huge, cause I cant find a local salvage yard for bikes anywhere that hasn't closed already.

you do know that RF is just a steel framed GSXR right? same wiring harness and everything for the most part. the first few years of the water cooled GSXR's use basically the same box. There's slight differences in ignition curves and redlines, but you can swap them from bike to bike. Suzuki is good for that. I had an early katana ECU on my 1st gen gsxr750 for a while (better curve, higher redline), and it was plug-and-play.

I'll be happy to take a look at it, but can't make any promises. If it turns out to be too far gone, I'd be willing to bet a 93ish (the perimeter framed) GSXR 600 (rare) 750 or 1100 ignitor would work. All those old zuk's were pretty much the same bikes with minor changes in frames and engine displacement. Hell, you can almost shove an early water cooled GSXR1100 motor in your RF with no mods. (read: ALMOST)

seriously, you should check this site out www.oldskoolsuzuki.info and look over all the random swap info on 1st gen water cooled gsxr's. Your RF motor is almost exactly the same, as is a good portion of the rest of the bike.

yea Ive noticed Suzuki loves to use parts from model to model, which im definitely happy about. However I didn't know how specific they are and if this was one of those parts you could do that with. Ive been searching online using the part number since I wasnt sure, when are you working again? I could just drop it off with ya, or set up a time to do it. Doesn't matter to me, I just want my bike back haha

i won't do that thru the shop, it'll cost you a fortune, bring me the box (I live a couple blocks from my shop) and I'll take a look-see.

I could fill your head with all sorts of swap-able parts from other bikes that go right in with almost no mods. I loves me some ols suzuki's.... how you think this happened:

that started as a 1986 gsxr750... ended up as a 1200cc monster, lol. ( I didn't always ride a chop )

I just need my front forks rebuilt I guess. I am not sure they really ever have been. Just wondering how much you would charge. One place I was looking at was saying like 75 dollars a leg if they are off the bike. And well, I can not really do that. Or if anyone on here knows how to rebuild the front and can help me out when afternoon that would be super.
