Holy shit, I get some work done and go to lunch, and this turns into a 12 page thread..

Just image if they were 500-600 lbs lighter, like my car is. Can't knock it until you try it. :-)>
Just imagine if WRXs and EVOs had to start with a 1.6L engine that put out 160 HP with a turbo. If that's not a handicap, I don't know what is..

Excuses don't fly. I don't talk about how fast my car is because I don't have any numbers to back it up. It's that simple.

A pinto???? Seriously? That gets the award for cars that are "different". I'm not sure what that means..

Swap is in progress. That pic is right after i got the mounts welded up and was test fitting everything. Motor is out of a 87 turbocoupe, has some mild head work done, 52lb injectors, rotated and gutted upper intake, 3" downpipe, etc etc Ill post up some more when its closer to being done....

I thought if the wastegate was stuck open you'd see maximum boost? eitherway, thats not too impressive. Ive done better than that on a fwd car, with bad plug wires.

if a wastegate is stuck open you wouldnt be able to achieve alot of boost, when your wastegate senses the amount of pressure the spring is rated for, it opens and dumps exhaust..... thus stabilizing boost as well as it can..... I am not trying to be an ass, just trying to explain where i dont make myself sound dumb?

no, its cool. I wasnt sure. I just remember back in the day when fiddling with my wastegate actuator on the neon. I thought when i had too much distance between the screw it caused the wastegate to be too open and boost excessively, i guess it was the other way around.

Suffice to say I'm well over 400 whp now.
He's telling the truth. I saw it with my own two eyes.

By they way, my car was rated at 310BHP and dynoed 290RWHP.

Fiero? Under rated? Mine has a 4.9 Cadillac and should make 220hp and 285ft/lbs (that's a stock motor) and weights about 2400lbs. Not bad, despite the bad rap they always get.

I was actually looking at a few of those before I got my current car. Only thing I don't really like about them is their gauge cluster, but that's fixable.

But I bet they're more of a pain to work on than my car now..
