Yah I'm going with the vband one, right now I'm going one goes up on the boards used, but if not then I'll brake down and get one soon.

yes it is, and for the nay sayers that say "oh nothing is 'forced' blah blah", it is pressurized and forced into the intake stream.. lol.

just a different way of doing the same basic thing, more oxygen!

No, the boost gauge doesn't go into the plus range like it does on 2 fast 2 furious where they shoot n2o and suddenly the boost gauges are flying.

It's just increasing the oxygen levels, not the amount of air in the engine.

its still a power adder....and you are having more air to combust...but IMO, nitrous is a seperate class.

you arent increasing intake pressure, like nick said, but you are increasing airflow.

so i guess it is in the catagory of airflow management....such as p&p heads, cam, etc.

true, youre dont have positive intake pressure (boost)...but i dont think its in the same catagory as pp heads, cam, etc for the simple reason that when the bottle is cracked, the motor is at over 100% VE...

now a race engine can probably get 100%VE or more, but lets just keep this on the daily driven cars...at best they may be around 85% or so. thats the kick ass heads, cam, intake etc.

when the giggle gas is let loose, the motor is operating at over 100% VE so at that moment the car is no longer naturally asperated. the extra power from the extra oxygen (not to mention fuel, diluted by the nitrogen) is where that extra kick in the ass comes from, but as soon as the spraying stops, the engine goes back to being NA.

like nick said, the boost gauge, if one was hooked up, would stay in vacuum, or at 0. but would it? if the motor is inhaling more than it can ingest, would that create positive pressure in the manifold (boost?) i wonder.

throetically cant happen.

you have to have something forcing air into the engine to increase the intake pressure.

you will go to 0" vac...same as goint to WOT due to barometric pressure exualizing out with intake pressure. you dont have something forcing air into the engine, so it will be coming in due to the airflow of the engine.

of course, a two stroke diesel is completely different.....as is the miller cycle engine that mazda uses in a few Millenias......but i aint gonna go there!
