had a great turnout last night at the meet with around 225 cars coming out. cops gave us some problems though bc of some "complaining" to quaker. i heard one tell people that we were spinning wheels, revving motors, playing loud music, etc. while we werent spinning wheels, way too many people were doing the other things. even though we have permission they tried to kick us out twice. the last time, it was after 11 and i didnt feel like arguing with the same cop again so i just had everyone leave. we'll get it all worked out though. if we have to, we will get a permit from the city. we have a couple members who are willing do donate the money to get a permit, which is very generous of them considering i'm told its around $300.

 

powertripping cops thinking they can bully everyone. Fuck em. If the management who controls the lot gives permission, then it's fine. The management in control of the lot has to revoke the permission for the police to boot you. In fact, if the lot is unattended, a complaint from property owner or manager, is the only thing that can get you booted, or the owner or property manager must give the police permission to boot you from the lot in their absence.

Unfortunately it's too hard to beat the bullying. I lost count of the number of times I got kicked out of taco bell back in the day when I was just trying to buy food, but they'd insist I was loitering and needed to leave immediately.

 

So apparently four guys went into Quaker Steak & Lube on Saturday night during the VA Rides Car Meet and caused about $2k worth of damage to the restrooms. When the General Manager confronted them, they went outside he followed them to their two Hondas and they drove off. Now QS&L is saying they won't give us permission anymore because of these idiots. If ANYONE has any idea who these guys were that did this, please let us know.

If you want to come out to the VA Rides Car Meet, then do just that, come out. Dont rev your car a bunch of times, dont do a burnout, dont blast your stereo, dont fly down the parking lot. What I'm getting at is DONT BE A MORON. This is something a lot of people have dedicated to and put their efforts and money in to. Dont screw it up just because you want to be cool. If you want to act like a moron simply because you feel you can or have no other way of understanding how to act then go elsewhere. The people in charge of the meet have the permission to be there, there for if your acting dumb you can be kicked out. Just bring your car, hang out, talk about whatever and leave peacefully. There are race tracks and dynos for driving fast and having fun. If your gonna tell someone about it, make sure they're aware of the rules as well. ATTENTION: The VA Rides Car Meet is still on for Saturday nights! I just met with Quaker Steak and Lube's General Manager and VP of Operations and discussed everything. They are still supporting us and want to continue to work with us. With that said, REMEMBER THE RULES! No loud music, no revving motors, no driving stupid, no alcohol or drugs, no fighting. Follow the rules or don't come. We will be putting cones up to designate a section for VA Rides members to park. We also will have a team of security at the meet to help enforce the rules.
