My world is large and pretty flexible within the bounds of common sense. That car is really, really not functional though. Seriously, does it really make sense that the bodywork should limit the suspension travel...?

 

It wouldn't if the car was on a static drop, but this isn't important since the car has airbag suspension

 

So the airbag suspension locks everything so the suspension can't move? So there isn't any need to worry about what happens when the wheel has to go over a bump?

That means that whatever the difference is between the normal ride height and the height in the photo becomes the suspension travel. So if the car is lowered 2" more than normal for the photo shoot (for example) then the car has 2" of suspension travel before the bodywork gets fucked.. Awesome.

I know I'm outspoken about this, but I can't be the only person here who thinks this is a really stupid trend.

 

As stupid as you think this trend may be (and there are times when I think it is too), the drivers are usually bright enough to judge what a safe height would be. Face it- if these cars aren't driving on a smoothly paved highway, then there's a damn good chance they're parking hard in a lot or garage. That suspension will hardly do any travelling in its lifetime.

 

I have this badass pair of boots, but I don't wear them out of the house because they'll get dirty.
