Yep. I fish here and in in PA mainly the wife's fathers place and the Lake/river at my parents cabin in the Poconos.

For a list of ponds/lakes in Va visit here. http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing/

I generally fish Powhatan Ponds, Swift creek Resovoir, and the creek at Pocahontas park. I have also fished at Deep run park, and a ponds on Pump rd and on Woolridge rd in Midlothian. This year I am going to try the ponds at Fort AP Hill. I tend to fish the smaller ponds may not get heavy fishing pressure compared to the bigger well known ones.

Rod/reel combo's.
BSP Stampede light spinning combo
BSP medium bait cast combo
Shakespere light spinning combo
Shimano medium spinning w/ Ugly stick rod combo
Abu Garcia medium bait cast combo
Shimano medium/heavy bait cast w/ Rhino rod combo

2 tackle boxes with various lures, jigs, spinnerbaits, crank baits, soft baits, top baits and live bait setups.

Went to Bass Pro last week to look at a new rod for my son as he has outgrown his "kiddie" rod/reel.

God I can't remember how much the fine was. It was 16 years ago when I was 18 and it was in PA. It may have been like 25 or 50 bucks. When you are my age it isn't worth getting caught and paying a fine just because you can't shell out 18 bucks.

I almost got caught in Florida.

Im surprised no one has mentioned Lake Chesdin.

I have never had much luck in the Swift Creek Resv.

Amelia has a free shooting range that has horse trails, and a boat ramp.. All maintained by the Dept. of Inland Game and fisheries if I am not mistaken. Definately make sure you have your license there. I have never been there to fish, but have talked to many people who have. Seems to be a good spot. Take 360 West to Genito Road... the one in Amelia.. (chula junction) follow that until you get to a volunteer fire department on the left.. turn left there and it will be a gravel road a couple of miles down on your right.

Dutch Gap is always fun for kitty fishing. Chicken livers work great. I just wouldn't eat anything out of that river south of Richmond.

Jordan point Marina - By Benjamin harrison bridge.. State Route 156/106 in Prince George.

If you want to take a day trip.. I would recomend Lake Gaston or Buggs Island Lake.
