do not burn the timing cover!

use plenty of pb blaster and a strong impact gun with a compressor that has a rating of 150psi. works for me every time!

i have used heat on the bolt a few times but never alot. you have to watch using heat or you will damge the front oil seal and have a nice oil leak!!!

the belt cover is held on by 5 10mm bolts. take off the valve cover, take the upper cover off (i think 4 10mm) and then take the lower off. burning it off is the stupidest thing i've ever heard of.

you can take the top cover off but u cant take the lower cover off unless u take the crank pulley off, the cover is behind it.

Man u been trying to get ur timing belt off for like 3months now, why dont u just take it to the shop cause it seems that its not working for u

uhh.. heat does make shit expand. thats why when you heat someting with a stuck bolt the part you are heating {lets say a block} will expand before the bolt does. the bolt is much more dense material and harder to get hot, not to mention its insulated by all the metal its stuck it. so uhh u heat up the metal, it gets bigger bolt stays the same size voila bolt comes right out..

however... try and take a bolt out of a hot motor where everything has had a chance to heat soak and expand ull never get that bolt out.

well... not to say either person is wrong but if you take a can of water or soda or what have you and freeze it... it will explode or stretch way out... so i know freezing stuff makes it expand =/
