Re: Nov 22 autoX at VMP
Yep, we run in anything but snow/ice/thunderstorms.
One time we ran with so much wind that we had to double stack all the cones to keep 'em from moving Lotsa missed times at that one, all sorts of stuff blowing through the timer boxes causing false starts & finishes, etc.
Sometimes we have to declare it a non-points/fun-only event if the weather changes a lot during the event... or only count the first x number of runs for everyone... the goal is for everyone to have the same or similar conditions, to keep the results as fair as possible.

It was only sticking to the grass, it was melting immediately on the pavement

on a slightly related note
Does the NASA Spec Miata Challenge require a full cage or just a roll bar?
I've been gooing over version 2009.3 and it doesn't say specifically, regardless of that it's certainly more affordable than what some other organizations want you to do.

You usually won't find that sort of info in specific class rules, only in the CCR (which applies to all cars that are roadraced with NASA.) The answer is 6-point cage and everything else... see http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/ccr.pdf
[NOTE: this does not apply to autocross cars]

LOL, I don't know if I told you about this, but I was messing with my data logger at that event. On one run, I got a 6mph higher run down the "straight" coming back than every other run... I'm pretty sure that was due to catching the occasional 50-60mph tailwind gusts at the right time.

Re: Nov 22 autoX at VMP
Me too! I couldn't find much grip anywhere with Star Specs and the E36 was pretty loose, I kept adjusting pressures but that didn't help much, I was simply overdriving. Spun on my second official run (my first spin at an autoX in years) after going in too hot & too deep at the far end turnaround. Had nothing for Brian in the blue Supra, he was flying yesterday, whooped me by a second and a half in class D...
