Op, the question about wiring in Vtec will depend on if you EG is an SI. If not then you will have to check to see if the Vtec wire is in the car harness. If I remember correctly the wire that you are looking for will be on the pass side of the car at the shock tower. The biggest plug should have a orange with a white stripe near the top of that connector. If that is the case then that year had the same car harness across the board. I know that some where in the 92-95 civic's they went to a more specific car harness and did not run all of the wires to the options that the car did not come with.

Also the Vtec wire on the engine harness should be Green with a Yellow stripe.
