Re: Will it hurt...............
yea a clymer is a must... i usually get the OEM manual, but its 3 or 4 times the price and really isn't much better
yamalube will be fine, was the guy before you running synthetic in it? if he wasn't then i'd just stick to regular oil
spark plug change isn't hard, in fact i just walked in from doing it on my F4i, but each bike is a little different on what needs to be removed and what tools and stuff like that so i'd get a service manual or someone knowledgable to lend you a hand... the hard part sometimes is using the right combinations of ratchett attachments to get down in the spark plug hole b/c your usually working with limited space

Ummmmmmmm......................................... what? How is that? I would reccomend the OEM filter as well; it's all I'll use on my bike's; but why would a Fram filter leak? Doesn't make sense to me; I use Fram in ALL of my cars......
Are you sure the gasket from the filter you pulled wasn't still on your engine when you put the new filter on? That would cause the filter to leak.................

Fram oil filters are pretty cheap. I'm a fan of napa gold oil filters myself but any decnet brand will do. IMO when it comes to filters you get what you pay for and whats a couple more bucks for a better filter?
