Tune Up Plus sucks

I refused because that is just another way for them to make money. First of all their procedure is to check for leaks first and then do the refill. I complained to the BBB already and im going to keep trying to call the owner. I am not going to waste $125 dollars for 20 minutes of air conditioning.

Only way to check for a leak without die is a visual inspection, and if everything "looks" ok. Draw the system down into a vaccum and see if it holds. I have seen many systems that would hold a vaccum for a short while but will slowly let freon out after pressure has built up.
Sorry for your luck

You mean in 8 hours all of my freon leaked out? They did a leak test before they re-filled the freon and it held for 20 minutes. I think these fucks did something because I wouldnt pay the extra 40 bucks.

Nato76, hey man, i work at the tune-up plus in hampton, and im gonna be honest with you, there arent many good a/c guys out there, that includes my tech advisor. The die tracer is one of the only ways to find out where the leak is, a vacuum pump will simply tell you if there is a leak or not. If you want your a/c done right, im not gonna do it because the machines at my shop suck, BUT, i can get your stuff straight if your willing to come to the pennisula. PM me if your interested. I know some reaaally good techs, so you might be interested. You wont get charged an arm and a leg either.

Exactly they said that they used the vacuum pump first so that means there isnt a leak. Tell you the truth I dont know what they did I am going by what they said. I just want my money back. What is your procedure at your shop when someone wants to refill their air conditioner in their car?

Well, if it was up to me, there is a coupon for a free a/c check. So i would recommend that. Then i would hook the guages up to determine if you are low on freon or if there is a elec./sensor problem. After that i give you the option of what to do based on the problem, and give you a price. If its just low, and you wanted to charge the system and put dye in it, i would evac. the system, vacuum it down, and let it sit for a while. This will give any leaks a chance to present themselves as the vacuum on the system would diminish. After that, i would charge it with dye tracer and tell you to come back in a day or two to find the leak. You get the picture.

After some research Im going to do the shit myself. I already reported them to the BBB so I will see what happens. Is there anything I can buy at a local auto parts store that can help with the air conditioner leak?
