I'd never run one on anything but my dirt bike but thats just me, i've never had a problem with one but i've also never used one, i've got a rivet tool so prefer to run one of those, chains coming apart never end up good so it just makes me feel better

 

Hell......................when I had a get off I lost my clip one time; rode around the rest of that Saturday at the races without one, didn't even know it.

Went over my bike the next day and noticed it. Didn't have another clip so I just lockwired it.
