though you are talking through RACELEGAL, and they just set up timing in a parking lot, rather than bulding a full track and all...i doubt if anything will happen within the area...good luck though

Yup, won't happen. Just live with the drive to Dinwiddie, its really not that bad, especially if you get a couple of cars cruising with you, it can actually be kinda fun.

RaceLegal has had many many battles with local government in San Diego and has come out on top every time. THey have all of the information needed to get past all of the legalities of this. Plus, this would create revenue for the local speed shops, so I'm sure they would be behind this proposal.

I was San Diego when racelegal started, and i know what to expect as far as people putting down the idea and how to get past it. I helped mke it a reality in San Diego, I don't see how it could be much diffrent here in Tide Water.

Go ahead and give it another try. I'm definitely not going to down the idea of this happening, however, seeing as its been tried umpteen billion times, with backing, and still hasn't happened, I'm not going to hold my breathe. Good luck though if you care to give it a try.

You haven't been here long enough. If you don't drive an Accord or an SUV, you are the direct spawn of Satan himself.

.. but the people here don't want kids at a track. They don't want them in a parking lot. they want them at home watching PBS. If they're not at home watching PBS, they're out swappin' AIDS and takin' lines.

That's an old video, we've all seen it. Even having a local track would not stop street racing. People still won't want to drive there, people will still catch random races on the interstate, and people will still meet up at 3AM in a random parking lot to go race.
