Surprised? People will usually pay for your labor when they buy a car that's already what they want. Look at all the b18c5 hatches, vtec swaps, SR 240s, etc that bring decent money.

Now building racecars is where you lose money hardcore, but I wana do it so badly.

You're right... stock turbo mr2's in half decent condition can fetch 6-7k.
I got a "really good deal" on one 5yrs ago when I paid 6k for a 91.

 

I payed 4k for mine w/ all the factory paperwork..and factory window sticker. Was an (NA), Now swapped to a 3S-GTE. Owning one is like being on an island cause hardly anyone has the part you need on the shelf.
