I registered as a novice being that this would be my first event. Can some of you veterans tell me what to expect, what I should bring, what I need to take care of before I show up? Is it cool to bring friends along even if they wont be driving?

Being a newbie is cool cause you get to ask all the dumb questions.

Bring water and food, its usually a long day out in the sun. Also sun tan lotion. Bring a tool kit just in case. You have to also work one of the sessions usually, which consists of putting back up cones and flagging in case something happens. Sign up to work early, so when you are done you can just leave and not worry about having to work then pack. Air pressure gauge. Tires HEAT the hell up in auto-xing and adjusting pressures can produce huge results. Bring a chair too and maybe a camera. Friends are always welcome if they dont mind hours outside.

What size tires/kind do you have? Its always good to start high, then go lower until you find a good medium. Especially if you dont have access to a pump. I forgot to add in my above post, bring a helmet if you have access to one. Theirs usually stink.. I have one someone can borrow if i dont go.

Haha, if your head is bigger than mine, you would actually be the first person not to fit in my helmet. You can use it, no prob if i dont go. Ill know soon. With those size tires id start with a 39psi front(should heat up to about 43psi or so, which isnt bad at all). Maybe do a 37 rear. Its up to your driving style really, but i found those work great for me.

Bring a tire pressure guage too. With heat the pressure will rise. A lawn chair is a nice thing to have too. And sunblock. I got the nastiest sunburn last time.
