I have a socket set and its a medium length socket wrench.... we have a long one probably 12-14 inches but I don't have the 18mm socket for it... i haev a 17 and a 19 just my luck....

Put it in your highest gear. Then put on the e-brake. Then you got all the holding power you should need.
Make sure your wrench stays ON the nut.. if it slips off once during a hard pull, it could be all over.. you don't want to trash the head of that bolt.

dont use steady force, use fast jerks. other way is if you have access from underneith you can jam the flywheel with a prybar or large screwdriver on the starter teeth. just use common sense when dooing this not to fuck up anything.

thanks for the advice. so when I do get the red-lock-tite. I just put it on the thread of the crank right? tighten it up with my socket wrench and tighen it to the right lb/ft amount with the torque wrench I have?
