I honestly think you'll be wasting your money. If you're set on having a fast ford truck then you just buy a lightning.... it'll be cheaper in the long run.

the navi motor would be no harder than the other two. Its still a 5.4, it just has 4V heads.

buy a project truck then, get a old ranger and throw a carb'd v8 in it or a 2.3t motor. You can do all this for the same price if not less, for the price of that swap alone im sure.

What your doing is stupid, your taking a newer perfectly fine running truck and gonna make a project out of it.

Exactly. If I were to have a "project truck" it would either be a gen 1 Lightning or an s10. With the s10 truely being the best bang for the buck. As far as having money for the swap, do you also have money for a built tranny and rearend?

Just an fyi, but my insurance it rather cheap. They see it as a 2wd reg cab v8 f150. (which it is)

It depends on what you looking to get. If you want more torque and a bigger motor go with the Lightning. That has 450 ft/lbs will the cobra had 390 ft/lbs but it is probably closer to 415 or 420. The Cobra motor also have more horsepower, 390 compared to 380. So all depends on what your looking for.

.. and what you're doing is seriously dumb as fuck. You're going to spend thousands of dollars for an engine swap, and you're still going to get ass-raped by a stock-ass Lightning.

Um, no. An f150 reg cab with a Navi 4v in it, with a paxton supercharger, would be putting over 400hp and 450lbs tq, almost the same as a Lightning.
And thats all for about $6k more or less, and without the Lightning insurance payment.
