Having a gun won't keep your car from getting broken into, especially if you live in an apartment complex. Chances are, you and your gun will walk out in the morning to see the fact that your stuff is gone.

I can afford like 170,000 and that's not nearly enough to get a decent place in a decent area. Damn housing prices are insane.

 

There are a lot of decent houses in decent area that you can get for 170k, but you're not going to get a 4 bedroom 3000sqft. place in Ghent for that.
