But you guys forgot there was already a drift event down there, at the beach at the super tuner show. It was small, it was dusty, it was dangerous and it took one rim....but it was there. First ever sanctioned drift event at the beach.

on a side note, if you have a parking lot thats big and available, ive got a track and insurance.
I know of plenty of large, open parking lots, the available part is what is hard to say. The Hampton Coliseum has a massive parking lot, as does TCC in Portsmouth, not to mention the Super Wal-Mart in Suffolk. It would just be next to impossible to get an event started there unless someone had some connections or was apart of an organization that would make everything more legit.

while it was fun to watch, that was more of the demo for people to see than participate. I wanted to so bad too HQ was fun though, but the amount of complaints would be insane and pretty much impossible. Cloverleaf...(sigh).

By the way DRFTwizard, if you are serious about setting something up best thing is talk to mike and throw out some places, if anyone could get it set up hed be the person to talk to.

has anyone thought about little creek or any other base that would be willing to consider it? i know little creek does the auto-x thing, and oceana used to have that 'race at the base' thing where they had a very nice track set up on the runways for vintage racecars...

if someone had an in with whoever puts these events on there might be a chance...

What about Creed's Airfield? I know the cops out there use it to practice driving, and its far enough away from civilization as to not get noise complaints (Don't worry, its easy enough to get there if you have directions). Just a thought.
