1987 Volvo 780 idle problems??????
geonfreag aka jason is the man to get your parts from if you want to drive to norfolk i can have a look at it its probably something simple just need to look at it
pull the vaccum hose off of the fuel pressure regulator and see if you have fuel comeing out of it if you do the regulator is bad that was a common problem with volvos
Coolant temp sensor if your temp gauge isn't working. I don't know a thing about Volvos but many fuel injected cars run like crap when the coolant temp sensor dies. The ECU needs that sensor for proper cold start enrichment, but I'm not so sure it could make it run as crappy as you're describing.

okay guys. here is what it is doing.
When you first hit the key it starts for a slight second then dies. Then you have to hold the gas about half way to even get it to run. At this point I have to hold it at about 3000rpm for about half a second then it smooths out and is fine.
When accelerating the car falls dead on its face at around 3000rpms for a slight second and then acts like normal after that. Im going to try and clean the iacv tommorrow and see if that works.
