at idle when first starting it runs like crap. let it sit for about 2 mins and then it smooths out a little bit. Then while under load it runs like complete crap. It feels like im only running on 2 cyl.

 

so i go to work this morning and every light i hit, the car dies slowly. It fades out almost. I can restart and go again. why is it dieing. gosh all im having with this car is problems!!

 

sounds to me like you are running extremely rich! thats why you are getting such poor fuel mileage.i believe that your car has a an air flow meter correct? it may be a tad ....how do you say...FUCKED! to tell you the truth it could be many different things. an o2 sensor would cause poor fuel mileage but not to the extent that you are describing. i would have say a mass air flow meter or map sensor is bad or you have a vacuum leak to the map sensor. its been a while since i have messed with a volvo from what i remember you car has the 2.8 v6? and its a coupe? well i can check it out for you but youd have to bring it to me. lemme know how it goes

 

Could even be a bad pump they put it.

Oh and you dont have a PCV valve on that car, you have a flame trap.

I talked to Tom and he refered me to a volvo shop out in hampton and they said volvo discontinued the "flame trap"

 

I forgot you had a 780. Naw you dont have a PCV or a flame trap.
