If you could read, you would realize that I didn't say Supra's are dyno queens. I said the ridiculously high horsepower Supra's are typically built as dyno queens, not to go fast down the 1/4. That doesn't mean they're not capable of it, but do you think the 1600hp Supra from that dyno video runs on the track regularly? Fuck no.

They're fast. You can make them very fast. The fastest Supra's are not the highest horsepower Supra's. Period.

Yeah, I can't read. That 1520 whp Supra, Marko's car, actually did make a lot of passes as a street car, running a best of 8.45 at 168. But, that was only at his 1170 whp level. But because he kept breaking shit to keep it a street car, he just said fuck it, went all out just to make a shitload of horsepower.

But who gives a shit, the original question was abotut he rules, not about a 1000 hp Supra, that was just a hypothtical situation.

No, to this thread. I could care less about Supraforums. Nice cars, but not for me.

What Adam is trying to say is that a lot (NOT ALL)high HP Supras are not designed to run low #'s in the 1/4. The reason is that they don't have a very usefull power/tourqe curve. Sure they make a lot of power, but if it isn't spread out accross the curve, it is useless. IE: 350HP@3500RPM's and 850HP@4200RPM's. The power comes in so drastic, it spins the tires, etc. Thus the reason you see many Supras that run high ET's along with their high MPH's.

Back to your question. If you have a normal looking, full interior, non-gutted car, you can run it in the quick 8. I would, however, check the tire restrictions. I would say Drag radial, and ET STREET's are allowed.

I'm very familiar with Marko's car. I wasn't referring to his car when I mentioned high horsepower dyno queens, but that also proves my point about the highest horsepower cars not being the fastest. He can't hold it together at full power. It takes a lot more than horsepower to go fast down a track, right? We can agree on that.

Also, FWIW, I've been a relatively active member on SF for umm.. 3.. maybe 4 years.

I think he's right about the rules though, by the way. I don't think slicks are allowed, but IIRC drag radial's are. I could be wrong. I also do believe that they have to have full interior.

Do they have to be tagged and street driven?

Thanks, I understand what you mean about the power curve, but the drags cars don't have that problem. Yeah, a 1000 hp Supra not built for drag would be useless. But I am talking drag/street built cars. Anyway, about the regulations, is that all you have to have? Just a full interior, full-bodied car? No engine restrictions or anything? Do they check under the hood ort anythign, or is it just anything goes as long as you have itnerior? I don't want to get get disqualified or anythign for some stupid ass restriction I didn't know about.

Oh, ok, so no slicks. I thought that Civic that won a couple years back had slicks when it ran that 7.7.

Yeah, I know they have to be tagged and street driven, I think they rule you out if you trailor the car in.
