That sucks man, I know how it feels to be working in the cold, and not get the results you want! 450.00 is ALOT for a car that was put together as sort of a budget project type of affair, ever consider returning back to stock, and starting with a platform with a turbo stock from the factory?

Why not just buy another stock pan and get another bung welded in it? Have some one who ummm has experience doing that type of thing weld it on? Just a suggestion.

I did buy another pan, and I had a guy that has been welding for 50 years do it for me. I had a brass fitting/steel pan, I guess he had to use bronze rod to TIG it.. I'm just gonna grind it off and get it done again, with a regular steel fitting(if I could find one dammit).. One step ahead of you.

Andrew, yea its pretty frustrating, but I don't think a simple oilpan is gonna turn me around hehe, I would'nt spend that much, but you know how you get when nothin works and you just don't care about money anymore? Yea thats how I was feeling..

The guy who actually did the weld is damn good at what he does. All he does is TIG for 8 hours a day. It's just that he had never done brass to steel before and unfortunately all we had, besides the fitting provided by garn, was brass as well. I informed garn of this before he attempted the weld. That and the fact that it's not something we commonly keep the materials at hand for as far as that weld is concerned. I'm sorry the pan is still being somewhat of an inconvenience and feel some responsibility for the situation even though I didn't do anything personally. If you get a chance pm me or call my cell bro.

the fitting area is a breeze to figure out, are you using a clamp and hose or an AN line?

If I were you I would have taken the pickup and windage tray off and pulled a main cap off and checked the bearing. (whoops, forgot I think they have a girdle that would mean you would have to take all the bolts out)

Neway, if you need any help on figuring something out just pm me and I'll meet you and look at it or something.

Take it easy and good luck man!

Hey,

I am using a clamp with a NPT bung/barbed fitting.. The welded bung is being a pain hah..

After taking the pan off again, noticed metallic slivers(almost like paint flake) and a white milky residue streak, which I read can be the precursor to a spun bearing..

I started checkin the rod bearings so far, refused to work on it any today, here are rods #2 and #3, look like normal wear for a 110k mile car.. I'm going to replace them all if everything checks out OK..

Took the cap bridge/girdle bolts out, thing is a PITA getting it to come off though, actually broke a hammer in half when prying haha.. I guess its those dowels? I will get it tommorow..

It's probably one of the mains, hope I didn't "burn" the crank..

Yea, definitely can't get the damn girdle off, just bent a crowbar in half using a jack to apply pressure and the crowbar braced between the girdle and the subframe..
