what kind of pressure are you running and disc style are you running that engages smooth? do share some specs. I've driven quite a few twins and haven't been so lucky to experience smoth engagment.

I'd have to agree..

I was running the XPP and an ACT 6 puck unsprung...traffic was HELL. It held 300+ on slicks (well my axle broke before the clutch slipped )

My new setup will be mid 400's and i am still using a 6 puck, until it slips.

*EDIT* i used to love to let people drive my car, just to watch them stall 3 times before figuring it out...lol

Competition Clutch Twin disc, I believe the standard pressure plate is 2100-2200 lbs and then it comes with 2 six puck discs unsrpung. Now you have driven two twin disc equipped cars? Were they your cars or you just drove them up the street? I drove this daily for a whole year and didn;t have any complaints ESPECIALLY considering I was already used to driving a single disc 6 puck clutch with a very heavy pressure plate. Again it was easy for me, I had people stall out in my cars with an ACT Xtreme 6 puck BUT my wife would drive it perfectly. I think it comes down to the driver and how much you drive it. Also I sold a Twin Disc to WillRex on here who has an EVO 8 and he daily drives it with NO PROBLEMS. His is just like stock, mine is more harsh BUT very driveable and easy to get used to. My .02

Keep in mind everyone Jay has a CRX with a Cable To Hydro conversion which isn't the same exact as a car equipped with a Hydro transmission in the first place.

When all is said and done IF you are going to make over 500whp a Twin Disc is definately NEEDED, sure you can use a Single disc clutch BUT it wont last that long really. Twin Discs are rebuildable and come with Flywheels already adn work very well, they won't make your left leg HUGE and have a skinny ass right leg :P

after hearing that this twin-disc system isn't as smooth as i thought or heard..

i have a Fidanza 7.5lb flywheel & also --
already have & will probably be running this EXEDY clutch ...
it is the thick cerametallic disc, & i believe a stage 2? pressure plate

its only rated up to high 200's @ most though

a twin disc is really that bad at all as my good freind boostfed has said... ive driven mine in my 500whp integra for over a year and half. i drive my car everyday. the pedal feels close to stock. yes they grab a bit on take of but nothing you cant get use to.. i love my exedy twin disc. i wouldnt run anything other than a twin.

you bring up a good point. i admit i didn't drive the cars enough in traffic to get a true feel for drivability. i can only assume from what i've experienced in track situations.
