Oh, and since you're from MD, check out www.dragMD.com . It's a new forum, but it's tring to grow.

One other thing, stick to auto-x if you want to keep that tank all-motor.

well, my goal is 12's all motor with the "tank"

I'm putting together a built head for the worked bottom end that I'm currently running with the stock head. Should be done by this summer and should get me into the 12's on drag radials.

for my personal benefit, how common is it to find an NA 4 cylinder that is a solid 12 second car but NOT a tin can?

at the MIR import/domestic shootout a couple years ago there were tons of swapped hatches running 12s and faster NA but they were gutted.

edit: by "not a tin can" i mean front and back seats, carpet, interior plastic, glass, etc.

Almost none. Seriously, they all have removed every bit of thier car that makes it comfortbale to achieve an onlly marginal quick timeslip. It's sad.

Like I said, you're not hitting 12s in your tank all-motor, and if you do, you're doing it at a cost of drivability. Good luck with it though.
