That is true but I wasn't specific in my last post. I had the same problem with my First CRX that the fan was hooked up through a switch and I'd always leave it on. But it did keep the temp pretty cool

why would that be the problem, in that case the fan is always spinning when the motor runs which means constant cooling of the radiator, which would make it run cooler. a clutched fan simply has a spring that expands when heated and catches to start spinning. when the temp. is right the clutch stops the spinning.

He said the clutch is fucked, and since it's got some apparent problem, maybe the spring isn't expanding and therefore is not delivering enough power to cool the engine. Fan clutches are generally cheap, I got mine for my 5.0 for around $30.
