help any1
i dont know... He is trying to put a gsr head on a b16 block, which would lower his compression. I was just saying, maybe he's gonna boost and wants a lower compression ratio??
hold up man im all confused right now.i know i dont know much about car that much but this conversation we have right now just got me more confused.which one is which?do i lower my compression ratio and add more boosting or raise my cr and less boosting.......................................... ..........i dont know im just some imperfect guy who owns a 99 si that wants some advise from you who knows alot about civic.
the difference in gsr and b16 head is a whopping 1cc. put on either.. youll never know the difference.
the question is why are you changing your head.
static compression isnt that important. your cams, cam timing will bleed off or build compression depending how u set it up.
the little bit of compression difference from head to head can easily be overcome with head gaskets of varying thickness.
there is no real best here... and we'd need to know more about your goals to give a more solid answer. look at terry, his car has a b16 head and last time i checked he made 675hp to the wheels. anything can be done... its all about what you want and how much money you got to spend.

just randomly changing heads trying to gain power is ridiculous.
go with cams, or a thinner head gasket if you want compression, or some high comp pistons,
or a thick head gasket and a turbo, or some nos, or whatever.
