if you have the transaxle out of the car

and you plan to race the car

you put an lsd in it.

.. there's no discussion or questioning needed. That's just how it is.

I'm going against the grain with this one.

My buddy has a factory DelSol Vtec(b16a3). He would burn both wheels, then it went to one shortly after launching.

He installed a Phantom Grip w/ upgraded spring, and I drove it for the first time(with the new lsd installed) and it feels great. He let me dog the shit outta it, and in doing so... I launched it on black top. It left two perfect marks, then two more little patches where it chirped/spun second. Also, he doesn't spin second gear as bad either.

I really didn't get a chance to try it in a circle motion. Couldn't find any spots big enough to try it, plus I didn't want to sling rocks all over his car.

LSD's are needed w/ going around turns to help traction
LSD's in the 1/4 are used because they take more abuse then an OEM diff (including OEM lsd's because they are just as weak as an open diff)

Personaly Ive always used open diff LS trannys.. I pull consistant 1.68-1.74 60ft times on slicks and consistant 1.9-2.1 60ft times on street tires.

When i gaged the car in 3rd it could leave a couple hundred feet of duals so no 1 wheel wonder when i "did" spin. Ask a lotta guys that have riddin behind me in Richmond or any of the guys that were at RPMs last winter when i road by and gagged it in 3rd

If you do get an LSD tho, get an OBX.
