New concept in brake rotor design emerges out of chesterfield county
So is that what happens when you neglect replacing your rotors for 3xx,xxx miles?
It's sad to see how people treat their cars.

I have seen that before. I had a lady come into Merchants in 2004 and we found the same thing. Worn down to the cooling fin. If I recall you can hold her vehicle and not allow her to drive it as it presents a serious safety issue. Seen a few inspectors do thaton an inspection.

My guess is that the caliper was likely seized on that one side, although her other side wasn't much better. The rotor was all eaten up (not to the extreme this one was) and there was no pad left on the other side as well. She got mad at me and decided she didn't want any of the work she'd originally came in to have done as well after I offered to give her a ride home or to let her use our phone to call someone to come pick her up. She's a school teacher and said she had to have her car to get back and forth to work so she couldn't leave it over night to wait for the caliper to come in
Yeah the one we had was owrn down past the cooling fins almopst to the other side. Atleast the lady I dealt with was smart and opted for a new caliper, rotors and pads.
Amazing how such an educated person can make such a foolish plan that risks her life and everyone else on the road. What color and make model is the car so I can stay far clear from her?

I'd be willing to bet that this woman is paying for inspection stickers. No way that the rotor could wear that much between now and her last inspection even with a siezed caliper.
