i dont know. i think a lot of left hand cars remain left handed. like bmws, mercs, camaros, corvettes, etc. the chevy cavelier is a toyota over there, so that might be right hand drive.

anyone know how much of a hassle it would be if i were to acquire any jdm car and get it shipped to the states (like us military). i am asking what i would have to do to drive it on the street, (not anything with acquiring/shipping it)

probably the easiest way to get one to the states would be to take the engine and tranny out and ship the shell and drivetrain seperate. even the military is having a difficult time bringing their cars over. youre going to have a big problem registering it, though, no matter how you do it. laws on grey market cars are much stricter than they used to be (terrorist and drug trafficing).

Pretty much all the loopholes that importers were using to import grey market vehicles to the US have been closed, so the only way to bring over a car that has no US equivalent and be able to drive it without any mileage restrictions, you would have to go through the same process for legalizing a vehicle that MotorEx did so they could bring over Skylines, which is a very time-consuming and expensive process.

If you don't mind having a mileage restriction, there are other ways to bring over cars, like classifing them as show or race vehicles.

To bring a car over under this classification you have to get the EPA paperwork done PRIOR to bringing the car into the US. Even then it's very limited to where you can drive it and how long it can be in the country.

To get it certified for highway use you either have to have paperwork from the manufacturer stating that it is compliant OR paperwork from an ICI saying that it's compliant. Those are the only ways, that's it. First way is next to impossible, second costs bank.

Good luck
