How could this happen to my fully built ls/vtec?
not trying to sound like a dick. i doubt it would hold up in court anyways, because your car is modified, everything on the car shouldnt be there in the first place, and big al's will probaly say it. also since its virginia the judge may agree. but its definitely worth a shot
You might stand a chance but you would have to bring in a turbo specialist to court. It should be someone who can translate turbo talk. But here is the "catch-all"; if you didn't have it registered as a show car you are not going to get anything because it's modified exhaust.
Sorry if it sounds like I'm ranting, but if you knew you weren't making proper boost from the get go; then the proper step would have been to troubleshoot the system. The list of parts shows that you have a great knowledge about boost, but it sounds like you forgot about one of the rules of boosting. If it feels wrong than stop and check everything twice, hi-boost is a fine line between good and self-destruction. Plus if work is contracted out don't forget to check the work they did. You did tell Big Al's to do the work and informed them of your work, but they aren't boost specialists and exhaust specialist is somewhat of a loose term to some of the shops out there. All those guys do is type your car into a computer and a part comes up, if it doesn't fit it is safer to assume they will try to make it fit. I always tell a shop to call me at the first sign of a problem, if you are polite about it they won't brush you off and will sometimes hook you up to solve the problem. Sorry to hear your loss man, start again and come back stronger.
Quick question, since your running v-tec which is already hi-compression did you over-bore to a boosting spec to compensate for boosting with a super charger? I was under the impression that the most boost friendly basic honda engine was the non v-tech prelude engine.

Thanks jamie that sounds right but i said it never gave me much of a prob. And people told me that it probably wont see a full 12 psi because superchargers arent as eff. as turbo so i didnt think anything and the only reason for the bore was because the cyl.walls were a little scared!
Assuming big Al's knew anything about boosted honda's was a mistake. Since you said it was "supposed" to be pre-tuned means the car was not tuned. That was your first mistake. Shitty exhaust wouldn't have blown your motor. Who assembled your motor?

accurate cylinder head did! They have done all of my motors and all of my friends! And u dont think that a piece of pipe smaller than a "dick" would have anything to do with it!With boost,r u sure u know what ure saying?
So If I was boosting on stock exhaust, would my motor be under alot of stress and blow?
