Although this will be a pretty mild stretch, so not so .

I wish I'd have seen this earlier. My guys were standing around with their thumbs up their asses pretty much all day,

 

My guys turned 35-40 hours today among the 3 of them.

 

At least someone made some money today. I sure as hell didn't.

 

Yeah and it wasnt that busy of a day. All of my customers were in by 10.

 

First off, you cannot make a blanket statement like saying "stretched tires are unsafe". Thats just not true. I refuse to get into a stretched tire opinion war, but thats not an opinion, its fact. Many new BMWs happen to be "stretching" a tire from the factory. Now putting a 195 on a 8" wheel is a lot by my standards, but is it unsafe? No.

Performance wise, stretching a tire to its extreme will make a 200rwhp car handle like a 400rwhp car. Since the sidewall is being flexed there is no give, therefore it will allow the car to break traction easier. That coupled with a great deal of negative camber makes for some great trailing-throttle-oversteering fun even in underpowered cars like a STOCK Miata..just imagine one with boost!

Now personally I'd have a set of 225's under the car because I know first hand what a high hp Miata is like and the more rubber the better.

Now if this becomes another opinion vs. opinion hatefest thread about stretched tires it will be locked. We've had enough of that lately. Lastly I will also have to add....EMF bitches.
