Maybe I should have dumped the synthetic out and gave him crappy dino oil then.
Best one yet,
Customer has 05 Touareg comes in for "Whooring Noise"
Well thankfully we have the best road to test for bad bearings.
Well turns out he needed a new Front Right wheel bearing, and a Rear Left Bearing, and a Tie Rod, and 4 new tires 255x45x18 Pirrelli Scorpions. Well the ticket was 1500$ parts, and like 15 hours labor at 95$ an hour, Well he ok'd the work over the phone and we had it done and he comes in the afternoon and wants to know why he had a 3000$ ticket. And tried arguing it was all spose to be warranty.
Now his Touareg had 65k miles on it btw.

We get our fair share of that bullshit all the time.
One lady with an Escort needed both outer tie rods, front/rear pads and rotors, she okay'd an oil change and a few other things I can't remember about. The ticket ended up being 900+ to pass S.I. She okay'd everything over the phone after being explained in detail, she came to get the car and started RAISING hell saying that she only thought it was 90.xx dollars and not 900.xx dollars. Are people lacking common sense?
I had another girl call me one night about a synthetic oil change on her 02 VW Beetle. Now the oil filter for one is 4-5 dollars more than a regular filter and syn oil is far more expensive. I told her multiple times that it was 75 dollars plus tax total. She said okay I have a coupon for 5 dollars off I'll be in first thing in the AM. She came, we did the oil change and I told her that it was 80.xx dollars after tax. She gave me the "Dah I'm dumb" look and claimed up and down I told her it was 25 dollars plus tax for the synthetic oil change. Again, common sense? Oh and she was real cute too, but after that I wanted to t-bag her.
I know we all could go on and on with customers in all different situations I'm sure. I love my job.

Yup. After seeing an experience at my old work where they forgot to get the customers signature for a diagnostic. Well they upsold the repair and customer ok'd it over the phone and total was around 1500.
he came in and stated he never authorized the repair. He never paid and got away with it all.
I always make them sign the ro before hand.

I used to work @ Pep Boys down here in the 757 and honestly the job wasn't bad. I worked with a few idiots that always had to ask me questions, so I ended up helping out their customer too. Sometimes people were such idiots that didn't want to listen/pay attention that I just sent them elsewhere too.
I used to work at Pep Boys as well but was only part time even though there were countless weeks where i worked as many hours as most of the full time employees did. I mainly worked at the one on Nine Mile Road here in Richmond but I also helped at the other two when needed. Its a tough one to call on which one was the most of a pain in the ass to work in. I'd have to say its a toss up between the one on Nine Mile Road and Midlothian Turnpike. The one on Nine Mile i had to work with pathological liars and deal with its ghetto ass customers that knew nothing at all. And the one on Midlothian was just full of a bunch of morons and just as many ghetto ass customers that knew nothing.
