true, i'm doing everything i can to make this a daily driven car...which is why i'm running everything to keep detonation, ping, and knock away from my engine...and plus, the T28 is good for up to 300hp...that's my mark anyway, because the Cobra MAF only has enough signal for about 350hp, and my injectors are only good till about 350hp too...w/ jim wolf technology's reprogrammed ECU i won't need any piggy back fuel control...i just purchased a GReddy Profec B w/ steering wheel mounted high/low switch, hehe this thing's pretty cool...im not one for massive top end, i'd rather hook up off the line with sub 2 second 60ft times than have to wait till 3500rpm just to have my tires screaming for traction...this is a daily driver guys, let's keep our mind's off the drag strip...Auto-X guys are welcome however, i'm going to need help tuning my suspension

Actually, when I install my intercooler, I will ping more... colder air - more oxygen same amount of gas... PING!

And did I stutter when I said 10hp, if that? If you go and tune the car after the intercooler install, hell yeah, you can make all kinds of power.. but just slapping an IC on will do didly cept change the temp of the air and make you ping if the car has been setup for the hotter less dense air....

The ceramic ball-bearing S15 turbo is decent and good for 300hp. I just think you'll want something better, especially since you have most of the parts to support it. How much did you get that turbo for? I see them go brand new for $850, which is ridiculous.

i love driving almost as much as i love breathing, so im keeping the cat...i might be sacrificing a few hp here, but that's okay by me...
I would still ditch the cat since they don't have emissions down there.

i contacted Jim Wolf Technology about the Cobra MAF, and they are reprogramming my ECU for it, i just have to get their adapter kit to splice into the wiring harness...
What exactly are they doing for you? JWT is usually not in the habit of customizing their ECU's for each customer, especially during race season. They take a fuel map and fine tune it for general use; pretty much everybody with the same car will receive the same spec ECU. I have one on the way to correct my fuel settings and unlock my boost/speed limits until the development of my on-board PC.
Just curious, why did you choose a Cobra MAF over a 300ZX one?

Cool

Well then you might as well fork over the money for the Project Mu calipers too. If you can afford to spend that much on brake pads, I'm sure you can splurge for the complete setup. Endless brake kit would be hot too.
FYI...there is a world of difference between a 300ZX brake conversion and a Project Mu kit. The 3Z swap is a minor brake upgrade, for those who want better brakes at low cost. The Project Mu setup is in a whole other (better) class, and you WILL PAY to be in that class!

I've seen tests where non-intercooled cars actually performed better at the track than with an intercooler on. One person tested on an old Z and on a Porsche (I think that's what it was). Same day/temp/track/factors. He ran both cars with and without an intercooler. Every run without an intercooler was faster.

Pretty interesting. I am sure every case is different though. I still recommend using one though, just for long-term maintenance; not necessarily to expect a power gain.

You can only safely assume that if they have your car in their possession and are dyno tuning the ECU.

Sorry, missed this the first time through... I dont along with thousand other's dont use a by pass or BOV ... a BOV will make my car run like I have a 800 lift cam.. at idle and make it fall on its face after a shift - too much gas, and unmetered air, and a bypass would probably help my shifts but I dont feel like messing something up that is already working... the car didnt come stock with one and 165k miles later, why bother doin one now? when I get a hybrid, a by pass will be on their with it for sure, maybe even a turbotimer if I feel rich that day...

but different cars act differnet and on a sr20, I would use a blow off or bypass.. either one works

Nope, not yet. I met him that once when he was just talking about getting it. I'm sure he's using a bypass valve; if not, he needs to!
Looks like there's a good market for my side mounts when I get my FMIC.
