...so now people can't call it a "cheater bike" when it wins this years sportbike shootout.

There are some interesting changes and improvements. Cassette transmission.. The tail light looks like it's going to be on the rear fender so it can be quickly and easily removed for the track, which I'm sort of undecided about whether or not I like that feature. That will make the aftermarket fender eliminators interesting, if they still exist after it's all said and done.. They're doing projectors.. the tank will be all metal instead of the front portion being a plastic cover, which will make tank bags safer.. etc. There are several big changes, but overall it doesn't look too much different. I honestly expect a sportbike shootout trophy this year!

 

the only thing a mugen cbr1000rr has is a bunch of bolt on stuff. All Mugen has is a couple performance items and a ton of bolt on appearance crap. I guess they built it for all the ricer kids that don't know any better. If I was going to drop some cash on a tuner sportbike I would get something a lot nicer that actually handles better and is faster than a stock bike.....the Jamie James R1

Granted, there's a full titanium exhaust.. and some lighter (I hope) bodywork.. and I assume those brake lines are braided.. but really that's just a riced out bike.

Have you seen the real pictures, or the photoshopped pictures that have been floating around? Some of the fake pictures were done relatively well and it's almost hard to tell the difference. The bike has grown on me since I saw it, but it wouldn't be worth me trading my 05 for an 07.. I love my bike.
