Re: Problems...
i really appreciate it. i finally took everything apart and looks like i got lucky and it was just the sprocket that stripped so i have new sprockets and of course i forget which side goes out...the side with the lip (like a built in washer) or the flatter side...same for the back. the flat side goes on the inside i think, but if anyone has any tips to remind me it'd be much appreciated. thanks again everyone!

Re: Problems...
on the front sprocket, the lip goes on the outside. on the rear, the flat goes against the hub. aftermarket sprockets don't have that lip, so they go on either way (as long as they're new, not used sprockets).

Re: Problems...
alright here's where i am now...finally got the last parts yesterday...front sprocket has the fat lip on the outside and then here's the lock washer and nut. the other side of the nut is flat...the flat goes on the outside, right? and what about the washer...it has those two raised sides, don't those go to the outside...this r6 manual seriously doesn't help for shit? never had this many issues even with a manual! thanks for any help

Re: Problems...
i assumed you were using oem sprockets, my bad. flip the sprocket over, put the lock washer on with the bent parts bent towards the outside of the bike, then put on the nut. tighten the nut, then bend the washer where it's already slightly bent so that the washer wraps around the nut. just make sure the washer is locked onto the splines of the shaft before you get the nut on tight. the washer gets bent up to the side of the nut to keep the nut from backing off. (which apparently doesn't work too well). i think the original setup uses a locknut, but with as many r6's as i've seen having the same problem you did, they probably changed the design to what you have now.
