Advice from stunt people

Re: Advice from stunt people
Not a very good stunt bike depending on what your trying to do as far as stunting is concerned.
-Carbeurated
-Subframe welded directly to main frame.
-Overpowered not necessary
-Yamaha's don't survive crashes very well.

Re: Advice from stunt people
Don't chop the gas and get the bike up to balance point as quick as you can without looping. If your constantly gaining speed after you drop the clutch, your wrong. You have to get it up really high really fast.
Until you learn rear brake, you'll never have FULL control of the bike so unless you enjoy looping out a wheelies going +50mph (i don't know who would?), I'd highly suggest practicing in a parking lot in first gear very slowly with crashcage/wheelie bar, and protective gear on.

Re: Advice from stunt people
Ya, ive also heard that its more difficult to do standups because the bikes gearing makes all the power in the top end. I watch my friend on his gsxr do a standup by just giving it gas in second gear doing about 55-60...me on the other hand, has to bounce it to pull it up in second (Not very hard, but i still have to).
dont worry, i just got my gauntlet gloves in the other day...I also have a really good leather jacket, so im not completely unprotected. I need some boots though...that would be the worst part about a crash for me.

Re: Advice from stunt people
Well, i wouldnt like to incriminate myself saying this...but basically on the streets with nobody around is a good place. Slow stunts in empty parking lots. Basically, it would be up to you if you wanted to ask the owner for permission and to mark off areas for boundries.
I mean, how many places do you think you can do an 80mph wheelie for distances?
There is, however a street in Chesterfield that almost never has any cars that come down it, and its a nice stretch to do tricks.
