With all these threads recently, just PLEASE be aware of your surroundings and ride defensively like everyone on the road is your enemy... Well, not so much your enemy, but like they're out to get you! Always stay alert, and never let your guard down. You wouldn't get in the ring with a UFC fighter with your hands tied behind your back--similar concept applies to riding motorcycles on the street. Everyone is out to get you, and you have to keep your guard up.

Point is, who cares? People should start on whatever they can afford, respect, and control. Quite frankly, no one needs a 600, 636, 750, 900, 1300, 1400, etc... Kawasaki's 250R or EX-250 is fast enough to get anyone in trouble, although none of us really consider it to be a fast bike. You can get yourself in trouble, or killed (for that matter) on anything. A fucking scooter, even. I don't care what someone else rides as long as they are responsible enough to ride.

I look at it the same way with cars. No one needs a 400+hp daily driver, but in this wonderful country we are allowed that kind of freedom to where we can do whatever we want within the law, and within reason.

 

hahaha.....I dont plan on do any wheelies anytime soon. What I am looking to do is attend alot of track events. Something might change and I might not even get a bike.

 

I'm not sure what year 750 you're considering, but if you plan on attending track days, I'd start with something smaller. I think you'll get a lot more out of what the track events have to offer and be a better rider for it.

 

I wasnt planing on jumping out there to start attneding events. I meant at some point i will be going to attend events.

 

honestly i never understood why people say to always start on a small bike. it's all gonna depend on the rider, and his self control, what he's gonna use it for, etc, etc, etc.

yes SOME people should start on a smaller bike, hell, some people just shouldn't start at all. BUT, not everyone is a lowly squid just waiting for thier shot to shoot themselves in the weeds, or worse. most any newer 600 will spit you off just as fast as a liter bike if you're not paying attention to what you're doing. it all boils down to the operator. if he/she is competent enough to ride a bigger bike controllably, then have at it. respect the bike, and the bike will respect you back. everyone crashes, some just sooner than others, and the people that truly hit hard usually can't blame the bike, just thmeselves. i see alot more crashed 600's than 750's and 1000's, and 99.9% of the crashes i see can be traced to operator error.
