Applicable Laws Concerning Protecting Personal Property
The point is not to use lethal force to defend yourself and your personal property. WE need to find a legal and solid way to defend ourselves from those who think they have a right to take from those who do the right thing to attain their property.
A good defense is the perfect offense.

Is a few thousand dollars worth 50 years of your life?
i didnt say car parts, i said in my first post that i would not shoot if someone was breaking into my car
i said i would protect my family, as in the case of an intruder in my home

have you guys seen the new alarms out? i saw something on a 20/20 type show awhile back how the police use them for sting operations. they leave an unlocked car at 7-11 or something and then once the theives steal it they get a little bit down the road and the doors lock and then the engine cuts off...you can even listen to the hoodlums inside....you can also call your car alarm from your phone and it has gps also so you can see where your car is it..........heres a link to an ebay special one
Finally, something to push this thread in a positive direction.
I've seen plenty of those shows and they show a good example of stupidity. The main advantage is that they are waiting for the crime, something that would deter (sp?) the theft in the first place. Maybe a battery back-up security with surge protection, I've heard of people using car batteries and jumper cables to blow the system and fuses.

No. If you are inside the home and can not see in plain daylight (lights off/dark outside) then you can shoot to kill. You are not required to check to see if the intruder who has broken into your home is aiming at your face with a shotgun before you shoot first. If you are not inside the home at the time, then it is a property crime.
If someone breaks into your house with a weapon, and they end up dead, I would love to see a jury convict the man that killed him.
All you need to do is prove self defence, or cause for you to think that your life was in danger.
That surpasses all laws.
As far as security systems...they are like locks. They are pickable (figuratively) So unless you plan on getting the newest thing every month or so, someone out there will know how to bypass it.
So just make the kill look like self defence.
You saw him near your car
You approached and tried to stop him from breaking in, both struggled, and you blew his kneecaps off.
Its the conviction you gotta worry about. And I dont know anyone that wouldnt be willing to fight for their car, and end up taking the fight too far.
