oh sorry, its 2.0,i think i just have a electrical problem, which i know found out is common in volkswagen, every now and then the speedo and the fuel sensor will stop working, then come back on,and as for the over heating,it will be perfectly fine at mid-way then i will check back and its registering as hot as possible,i never get smoke from the engine bay though

not to mention the radiator never gets warm and the cooliant is allways very warm

well i just really started paying attention to the temperature gauge,it will be normal for about 10-15 minutes of driving, then it will just jump all the way up to hottt, like it doesnt slowly get hot it immediately gets hot,so im thinking my sensor,or wireing is bad i mean i can put my hand on the valve cover and it wont burn me(btw:valve cover is metal)

and the lower radiator hose which runs from the radiator to the thermostat housing is staying cool, while the top hose gets hot,but i just changed the thermostat and gasket??

update:started feeling around the radiator and where the hose at the top goes in,around that part of the radiator it is warm but on the other end it is cool?i ran a hose through the radiator earlier and it came out so i didnt think there was a clog,im going to get some top dollar flush and use that just to see if that will help, but that also explains why my radiator fan isnt coming on,the switch is on the side that doesnt get warm,by the way i have checked for every symptom of a blown head gasket and its not showing any signs...

Is that the same mechanic that has my car?
If its the same guy- Paul does great work! He is a tech at a dealership and works at home when he has the time

well i flushed the cooling system when i put in a thermostat, its like the cooliant isnt going through the thermostat at all,but its new?

i think the waterpump is faulty because on the car the water pump is directly next to the thermostat
