since the code is gine it prolly to late to find out what it is. do the jumper trick like the one dude said... it prolly your knock sensor man... no vtec right or do you have a y7 motor? when knock sensor is disruoted youll ping at 5 grand and wont have vtec ... the sensors prolly fine tho.... gl

nope, d16y8.. so i have vtec. its still running fine, not doing it anymore. but still worth a shot to hook up the scan tool to it. Im not uber worried about it, because how much longer this motor is going to be in here debatable

gat ya...if the light is gone then you cant jump it and see the code so youd have to use a diagnostic scanner... but like i said prolly you knock.. did vtec cross over at all when you were pingin at 5 grand? if it didnt then it was knock

gotcha... i think it was your knock sensor man... you should be fine if your vtec is working again and shit
