Leaving at 12 to go to the track.. Not taking my car going to watch..

 

Well.... I was the first car to go today, after 3 JR dragsters..

Never left the line, dropped the clutch around 3500RPM and floored it and broke both front half shafts in half.... Moved maybe 4 inches...

Ya, I was that guy.. I saw a Prelude break a CV axle too but I think he had a spare and changed it in 30 minutes...

But, I am ordering stronger ones on Monday and will hopefully be back next week..

 

Had fun at the track... I was standing at the line and saw that Prelude break his axle.. I'll have my car straight soon to go to the track..

 

damn it all you guys. i was working and had a customer tell me they were running i need to get on the ball!

 

Pretty good turnout. 260+ vehicles.

Highlights from the stands:

-Red fox body stang ran half the 1/8th on 2 wheels
-57' Bel Air had his throttle stick/opened his chute
-All-motor GSX-R 1000 running 5.80's.

 

You didn't see the new 'Vette bounce off the wall at sixty feet, spin 180 degrees in grand smokey fashion and almost bounce off the opposite wall?

 

Nope. I showed up around 1:30. All I heard was that some dude trashed his vette. Z06?

 

It was a black C6, didn't run like it was a Z06. I got there about 1:10 and had no sooner sat down on the bleachers with my two daughters that it happened. Wiggled a little bit on the transition, possibly gear change, then it just went left like he steered the car into a skid. It slid the nose down the wall, then he romped the throttle spun it off the barrier and damn near into the other wall. Once it completely stopped, he turned around and drove down the track and up the return lane on its own power.
