Sun roof, moon roof?
It has nothing to do with how the open, or how far they open. Both a sunroof and a moonroof can open completely, tilt, or remain completely shut. The only difference is what they are made of. A sunroof is a solid color, and when closed, cannot be seen through. A moonroof is usually made of tempered glass that is tinted, allowing you to see the moon at night, without having to open it. Moonroofs generally open inside of the vehicle solely because of what they are made of. Glass tends to break much easier than metal, so by opening inside of the vehicle it offers protection against debris.
This isn't me talking out my ass.

I think its the other way around since my Probe has a metal panel and when I get the KBB value it has moonroof automatically checked. All Probes had the metal panel, no glass was offered.
Well the automatically check stupid shit when I do mine. I wouldn't go by that.
Some cars have a combination of both.
To me:
moonroof = open/slide and you can see the sky/moon
sunroof = the sun comes thru the glass or tilt to let air in.
NOTE: Don't get me lying.
