try never to just pay first you should go to court and plead not guilty, all a ticket is, is a statement that the cop give saying you were speeding and since its just a statement u should always have the cop prove that your guilty. getting your calibrated will also help and taking the driving class will show ur responsibilty which u should take saying how there goin to make you take it anyways.

the only good thing about paying for the ticket without going to court is the fact that when they suspend your license you still physically have your card were as if u go to court they will take ur card

go to court. since its your first offense you may get off a little easier... such as differed finding, community service, year probation, then its off your record

 

i guess ill just go to driving school before i go to court and be like ive gone to driving school already....show that im taking responsibility and then i just pay my fines and wat not......or hopefully they will drop it

 

i dont have any tickets on my record at all so hopefully i can get it dropped and insurance wont go up and i wont loose my license

 

does anybody know a website so i can estimate about how much the ticket will cost or does anyone know?

the part that has me pissed is that i looked down at my speedo before i even noticed he was there and got on the brakes because i didnt realize i was goin that fast....and after im on the brakes i was like oh shit theres a cop and after that it was over

Close. If it's written under 46.2-870 "speeding 75/55" then it's speeding. If it's written under 46.2-862 "Reckless driving speed 75/55" then it's reckless. The difference is which code section it's charged under. It could be written under 46.2-862 speed 75/55, and because it's charged under 46.2-862 it will be reckless. It doesn't matter which code it's charged under, DMV will interpret it as a 6 point violation. The difference is in the penalty. Under 46.2-862 it becomes a class1 misdemeanor, max penalty... $2500, 1 year in jail and 6 months license suspension.
