anyone ever tried registering your truck in a diff state w/slacker laws and claiming a residency in that state...i've heard of it being done...but it sounds like a bunch of hassle and/or trouble.

You can get by with extra height if you register for truck tags, however there are a few things you have to do in preparation to getting them.
i'm just gonna get me a 15,000 lb truck then they can't do anything about it . . . lol
The law is 7501-1500 31" Back and 30 Front. I had 15001 Tags and didnt have a problem but I sold it and the guy got pulled and got a ticket for being 6" over the law.

damn...sucks for him...i've just been told that it is possible...but its also a bunch of extra BS and $$ to get it done
Well, how much is the lift height law used (tickets handed out)? Im about to get my trailblazer a 5" lift w/ 33's from pungo and was wondering if im going to have any troubles? I live in VA Beach...
5" and 33's wont cause you any trouble...you'd have to be running 6" + and bigger than 38's to have problems...im talking about running 46's w/26" lift on a f350 superduty...thats like a foot above the legal limit...

Doesnt matter what you register the GVWR at, it goes by the vin tag on the door. If you want a big ass truck, move to a different state. Or buy a medium duty 4x4 such as a c4500 kodiak or a f650 with a gvwr over 15000 and then supposedly they cant mess with you.
