this was done in SD to cut down on the illegal street racing. it helped, but not much. 1/8th or 1/4 would be good. the 1/8th more like street racing. but to charge people like $5 a day to race to cover expenses. I'll help promtoe as much as I can to help out. for the next 7 months of course.
Its not going to happen, people. This area is so full of red tape and buearocracy that it would take Earnhardt Jr. as governor to build any type of track here. All the things sung listed as issues overule the need to give "street racers" a place to drag race. Once again, we should be working to show that one idiot who raced in the lot does not represent the car scene in the 757. Even if somehow the ball got rolling, it would be years until something would be built. Like boostedcrx said, the costs would be so prohibitive, the track would have to be sponsored by several huge developers and we'd end up driving to VMP for amateur racing anyways. Not trying to be the bearer of bad news but I seriously don't think its going to happen. It will take more than a msg board to build a race track.
not so, the do some research and find out. San Diego did it in less then one year. or you can be negative and say it wont' work and it'll never happen. then again i don't care, i'm moving back home to SD and we have multiple tracks less then an hour away. =) have fun in P-town people.
Remember that street racing is FREE. To me, that is the biggest downfall of building a track. Who wants to pay $20 every weekend to race or watch races when we do it for free already? So just remember that this track is going to have to be cheap on admission to solve the problem.
